Ich wollte ja unbedingt noch den Domschatz sehen, also, zeitig aufstehen, Test machen und pünktlich um 10 Uhr bin ich in der Kirche. Was bin ich stolz auf mich. Die Katholiken unter meinen Lesern und Leserinnen würden wahrscheinlich müde lächelnd abwinken, weil sie um diese Zeit schon zwei Messe besucht haben, aber für mich im Urlaub ist das ganz schön früh und darum habe ich den Dom auch fast für mich allein. Das heißt, außer mir und der Person, die aufgeschlossen hat, ist niemand da, auch niemand am Einlass zum Domschatz. Bin etwas verstimmt nun und gehe erstmal Kaffee trinken und Kuchen essen.
Auf meinem erneuten Weg zum Dom, der mich über der Hauptmarkt an der Stiepe vorbei, einem gotischen Haus, das einst für repräsentative Angelegenheiten vom Bürgermeister der Stadt genutzt wurde, und nun ein Spielzeugmuseum beherbergt. Oh wie schön, das muss ich sehen. Ich liebe solche Museen und habe schon einige gesehen, zum Beispiel das in München (https://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.com/2013/12/spielzeugmuseum-im-alten-rathaus-toy.html?m=1), das Puppenmuseum in Yokohama oder die Miniatureisenbahn im Wunderland Hamburg, und nein, ich weiß nicht, warum mich Museen dieser Art so anziehen und nein, es liegt nicht daran, dass ich als Kind zu wenig Spielsachen hatte.
Dieses Museum ist aus einer privaten Sammlung hervorgegangen, er, Rolf Scheurich, sammelte Spielzeuge, sie, Heidi Scheurich, sammelte Puppen, im Jahr 1989 eröffnet das Ehepaar das größte privat geführte Museum dieser Art in Deutschland. Im Jahr 2000 gründete sich ein Verein, um diese Sammlung zu erhalten und 2003 zog das Museum in das historische Gebäude.
Die Sammlung umfasst 5000 Exemplare aus allen Bereichen des Kinderspiels, das älteste Exponat ist ein Tanzbär aus Frankreich, ca 130 Jahre alt. Es gibt Puppen, Teddys, andere Plüschtiere, Bausteine, Legosteine, Schaukelpferde, Puppenstuben, Puppenwagen, Kriegsspielzeug, Brettspiele, Lernspiele, Blechspielzeug, Zinnsoldaten, Schleich-Tiere, Eisenbahnen und Beispiele für Kinderspielzeug zu Zeiten der Römer. I wanted to see the cathedral’s treasure, that means, get up early, get a test and on time, 10am I’m at the cathedral. I’m so proud of myself. The catholics among my readers might smile mildly and put this away, because they have already been at the second mass, but I’m on holiday and therefore it’s quite early to me and I got the church all for myself. On my way back to the cathedral, which leads me over the main market with the Steipe, a gothic building what was used for receptions in former times by the mayor of the city, and now houses a toy museum. The museum was once a private collection of Rolf Scheurich, who collected toys of every kind and Heidi Scheurich, who collected dolls. In 1989 they opened the museum and it was the grandes private run museum of this kind in Germany. In 2000 a society to preserve the museum was founded and in 2003 the exhibition moved into the historical building.
The collection contains about 5000 exhibits, the oldest one is a dancing bear from France, about 130 years old. There are dolls, teddies, plushies, toy bricks, Lego, rocking horses, doll houses, doll strollers, war toys, board games, teaching games, tin toys, Schleich-toys, trains and examples for toys of the Roman time. Diverting, entertaining and impressive.
