Ich so: ich fahre in den Urlaub. Alle anderen: waaaaas, schon wieder? Ich so: ja!
Und da bin ich, in Hiroshima, in einem Hotel mit 23 Etagen und super tollen Ausblick auf die Gegend. Direkt vor dem Haus der Bootsanleger und in der Lobby ein Aushang mit dem Versprechen, dass das Boot nur 26 Minuten bis Miyajima braucht. Das werde ich gleich mal testen. Da ich gestern nach meiner Anreise zeitig schlafen gegangen bin, bin ich heute zeitig wach, ausgeschlafen und motiviert. Ich habe einen schönen Sonnenaufgang gesehen und jetzt hab ich Lust, mal zu schauen, wie es hier aussieht.
Das Hotel liegt außerhalb der Stadt, genau genommen auf einer Insel im Hafen von Hiroshima, welcher der größte Hafen im Westen Japans ist. Und dann komme ich aus dem Hotel und stehe im, beziehungsweise am Wald. Der Motoujina Park ist ein Stück Natur, gehört zum Setouchi Nationalpark und die Bäume dürfen hier so wachsen, wie sie wollen. Es gibt einen Wanderpfad im Wald und einen, der an der Käste entlang führt bis zum Hafen. Ich laufe an der Küste entlang und genieße die Illusion von unberührter Natur. Obwohl es durchaus mehr als nur eine Illusion ist, eher ist es erstaunlich, einen so großen Wald mitten in einem Industriegebiet zu finden. Und auch hier begegne ich wieder, was mich in Japan fasziniert: immer neue, unerwartete Ausblicke und Arrangements von Bäumen und Steinen. Am Ende ist auch dieses Stück Natur vom Menschen erschaffen. Wer weiß. Aber wenn dem so wäre, war es ein genialer Designer.
Nun aber hurtig zurück zum Hotel, damit das Boot nicht ohne mich davon schwimmt. Aber da ich noch im Training bin, bin ich pünktlich vor Ort und dann mache ich es mir auf einer Eckcouch unter Deck bequem und los geht's. High Speed übers Seto-Binnenmeer, rechts von mir die Küste der Stadt und links die felsigen Inseln, die aus dem Meer ragen. Und nach 20 Minuten kommt es in Sicht, das große Tori des Itsukushima Schreins.
Me then: I'm going on holiday. Anyone else: whaaaat, again? Me then: yep!
And here I am, in Hiroshima, in a hotel with 23 floors and a great view around. In front of the building a pier and in the lobby a posting with the promise a boat will take one in about 26 minutes to Miyajima. I'll check that. Because I went to bed early yesterday after the arrival, I'm up early in the morning, alert and motivated. I watched a beautiful sun rise and now I'm curious, how it's looks like here around.
The hotel is a bit outside the city, strictly speaking on an island in the port of Hiroshima, which is the biggest port in West Japan. I'm out of the hotel and in the woods, respectively beside the woods. The Motoujina Park is a piece of nature and belongs to the Setouchi National Park, and the trees are here allowed to grow the way they want. There is one hiking path in the forest and one along the shoreline to the port. I walk along the shore and enjoy the illusion of untouched nature. But in fact, it's more than an illusion, but somewhat astounding to find such a big forest in the middle of an industrial environment. And here too I meet, what I so like in Japan: always new unexpected views and arrangements of trees and stones. So, maybe in the end that nature was built by men too. Who knows. But if it would, it was a great designer then.
Now hurry, back to the hotel and not missing the boat. But I had a bit of training the other day, so I make it in time and make myself comfortable on an sofa under deck an on we go. High speed on Seto inland sea, on the right hand side the city and left the stony islands peaking out of the sea. And after 20 minutes it comes into sight, the great Tori of the Itsukushima Shrine.
