Kein Urlaub in Japan ohne Konzerte, diesmal sind es drei. Bin gerade gelandet und habe meinen Koffer im Hotel fallen lassen, da mache ich mich auf den Weg, Anna zu treffen. Wir sehen Juno Reactor. Erstmals habe ich Reactor gehört, als ich The Matrix gesehen habe. Sie haben die Filmmusik gemacht, oder einen Teil davon. Nun spielen sie in Tokyo, wenn ich in Tokyo bin, das kann ich nicht auslassen. Handmade Trance and Ambiance Music, scheinbar ein Widerspruch in sich, aber nur scheinbar. Eine großartige Lightshow und tolle Tänzerinnen. Ein schöner Einstieg in die Ferien.
Als nächstes sehe und höre ich ZIZ, zum wiederholten Male und ja, sie sind wie Whisky, sie werden nicht älter, sondern besser. Sie waren der Headliner des Abends, vorher spielen noch zwei andere Bands. Und hier finde ich es echt schade, dass man in Japan bei Japanischen Bands nicht fotografieren oder Videos erstellen darf. Die zweite Vorband war super und hätte durchaus auch in Deutschland mittlere Clubs oder kleinere Hallen füllen können. Ich habe Anna darauf angesprochen und sie sagte, dass es nicht wenige Japanische Künstler gibt, die durchaus zufrieden sind, lokale Berühmtheiten zu sein und zu bleiben, und kein Interesse am Ausland haben. Schade eigentlich. Aber, in dem Falle, Jungs und Mädels, ist euch nicht zu helfen.
Das dritte Event war eine Art Geburtstagsfeier. Reds, Sänger und Gitarrist von Aura, Enso und wahrscheinlich noch einem Dutzend anderer Band hatte Geburtstag und zur Party mit Musik geladen, live und in Farbe und nicht aus der Dose. Sehr netter kleiner Club, übersichtliches Publikum, dafür aber um so begeisterter. Neben Aura, die ich vorletztes Jahr schon live gesehen und sehr gemocht habe, spielten noch andere Bands, manchmal auch irgendwie zusammen. Aufgefallen ist mir besonders ein Junge, der aussah wie neun, wahrscheinlich zwölf war, gesungen hat, als ob er den Stimmbruch schon hinter sich hat und dabei auch noch Gitarre gespielt hat. Ein echter kleiner Rocker! Bin gespannt, was aus ihm mal wird.
And dem Abend gab es ein heftiges Erdbeben in Tokyo und ich hab es nicht gemerkt. Habe überlegt, ob es daran lag, dass wir relativ tief im Keller waren, oder wegen der Livemusik, keine Ahnung. Alle waren ganz aufgeregt und fragten, ob ich alles gut überstanden habe und ich so: äh, war was? In unserem Hotel fuhren die Fahrstühle nicht, also muss es ganz schön gerüttelt haben.
Wie bereits erwähnt, darf in Japan auf Konzerten nicht fotografiert werden, Juno Reactor macht da eine Ausnahme. Diese Bilder sind von mir, die von ZIZ aus dem Netz, die Rechte liegen beim Eigentümer und die Bilder von Reds' Party reicht Anna nach, wenn sie Zeit hat.
No holiday without live music, three concerts this time. I just landed and dropped my suitcase in the hotel, I had to go to meet Anna. We go and see Juno Reactor. First time I heard Reactor was while watching The Matrix. They made the sound track, or parts of it. Now they play in Tokyo while I'm in Tokyo, I can't miss that. Handmade trance and ambiance music, seems to be a contradiction, but it only seems to be. A great light show and wonderful dancers. That's a good start into my holidays.
The next band is ZIZ, umpteenth times and yes, they are like whiskey, they don't get older, they get better. There were the evening's headliners, but at first two other bands were performing. And here I really regret it, that's forbidden to take pictures and videos of Japanese bands when they play in Japan. The second support band was quite good and they could play medium clubs or smaller halls in Germany if they only would. I talked to Anna about that, and she said, many artist are satisfied with being big in Japan and have no ambition to play overseas. That's pity. But, boys and girls, in that case you can't be helped.
The third event was a kind of birthday party. Reds, singer and guitarist of Aura, Enso and probably of a dozen other bands has had birthday and invited to celebrate it with music, not canned, but live and in colour. It was a nice and cosy little club, the audience was manageable, but very enthusiastic. Beside Aura, which I saw the year before last year and really liked, other bands were playing too, and sometimes they played all together somehow. Remarkable was a boy who looked like nine, was probably twelve and was singing like he was already done with puberty vocal change and was playing guitar too. Very impressive. A real little rocker! Would be interesting to see, were he goes from here.
And there was a huge quake this night in Tokyo and I didn't even realise it. Maybe because we've been quite deep in the basement, or because of the live music, no idea. Anyone was calling me and asking, if I'm fine, and me: err, what? In our hotel the elevators didn't work, so it must have been really heavy.
Like I said before, it's forbidden to take pictures during concerts in Japan, it was different with Juno Reactor. Those pics are mine, the pics from ZIZ I found at the net, all rights belong to the owner. And the pictures from Reds' party will Anna hand in later, when she will find time.
