Taiwan: Der Konfuzius Tempel Tainan - The Confucian Temple Tainan

Auch bei diesem Ausflug wiederum steht ein konfuzianischer Tempel auf dem Programm. Der erste, den ich je besuchte, war der in Taipei (https://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.com/2019/12/taiwan-der-konfuzianische-tempel-in.html), darum sind meine Vergleichsmöglichkeiten limitiert, aber dieser Tempel ist ganz anders. Fand ich den ihn Taipei recht üppig dekoriert und bemalt, ist dieser hier nahezu schlicht, wie der Unterschied zwischen einem teuren Internat und einer Dorfschule.
Genau genommen beschränkt sich der Tempel auf das Wesentliche, die Schrifttafeln mir den konfuzianischen Lehren.
Entstanden ist der Tempel im Jahr 1665 und geht zurück auf einen Sohn von Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), der Mann, der den Holländern Taiwan abnahm. Angelegt ist der Tempel als Ort des Lehrens und des Lernens, darum ist er auch mit wenig Zierrat bedacht, die Haupthalle ist fast leer und nur wenige Schrifttafeln schmücken die Wände. Zur Anlage gehören neben dem eigentlichen Tempel auch die Nationale Akademie, die Halle der Ethik und die Halle der Leistung, insgesamt galt der Tempel als erste Akademie Taiwans.
Der Tempel hat einige Umbauten und Veränderungen erlebt und war trotz der wechselvollen Geschichte und der verschiedenen Regierungen die ganze Zeit eine Lehranstalt.
1917 kam es zu den umfänglichsten Umbauten, einige Gebäude wurden abgerissen, andere verändert und so entstand das heutige Erscheinungsbild des Tempels. Seit der letzten Renovierung Ende der 80er Jahre gilt auch dieser Tempel als historisches Monument in Taiwan.
Auch jetzt noch ist der Tempel aktiv, die konfuzianischen Riten werden hier abgehalten und während unseres Besuches spielten Musiker auf historischen Instrumenten.
Die Anlage ist sehr schön und sehr grün und mit vielen alten Bäumen bestanden und in der quirligen und lauten Metropole eine Oase der Ruhe.

Even with this day trip we will see a Confucian temple. The very first one I ever saw was the one in Taipei (https://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.com/2019/12/taiwan-der-konfuzianische-tempel-in.html), that means I didn´t had many opportunities up to now to compare, but this one is totally different. The one in Taipei was very opulent in ornaments and colours and this one is plain and simple, like the difference between a very expensive boarding school and a village school house. To be precise, the temple is confined to the essentials, the tablets with the Confucian dogmata.
The temple was built in 1665 under the rule of one son of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), the man who took Taiwan from the Dutch. The temple is created to be a place of teaching and learning, there for you don´t find many decorations, the main hall is nearly empty, only tablets are on the walls as ornaments. The area contains beside the temple a building of the National Academy, a Hall of Ethics and a Hall of Achievement, the whole place is the first academy of Taiwan ever.
The temple faced some improvements and reconstructions and was during the changing governments all time a teaching facility.
1917 took place the most considerable reconstruction, some buildings have been torn down and the temple got its daily appearance. Since the last renovation in the 80s of the last century the temple is declared a national historical monument of Taiwan.
The temple is still active, Confucian rites are celebrated here and when we visited it, musicians did play music on historical instruments.
The whole place is very beautiful and very green with a lot of very old trees around and is a quiet and calm oasis in the middle of a bustled city.
