Darum muss ich nun auf die Reeperbahn, zum Beatlesplatz und ins Museum. Eine Konzept-Ausstellung auf 5 Etagen und 1300 qm mit über 1000 Exponaten, die die Anfänge einer unbekannten Band aus England beleuchten, bis sie zu Superstars, Global Players, Multimillionären wurden, von der Zeit, als sie täglich vor 50 Leuten zum Tanz aufspielten, um sich ein Abendessen leisten zu können, bis dahin, dass sie ein Millionenpublikum begeisterten.
Die Ausstellung versammelt so ziemlich alles, wo Beatles drauf steht, es gibt, Fotos, auch private, Schallplatten, Poster, Tondokumente, Fanartikel. Es gibt eine Andy Warhol Ausstellung als Bonbon (2 Räume und 13 Bilder), man durchquert ein gelbes Unterseeboot und betrachtet das Zimmer eines Super-Fans.
Leider gibt es das Museum heute nicht mehr, zu hohe Kosten und zu wenig Einnahmen führten im Jahr 2012 zur Schließung, Schade, ein Stück Kultur weniger....
That's why I go and see the Reeperbahn, the Beatles Square and the museum. A concept exhibition on five floors, 1300sq, with more than 1000 items, showing the begin of a total unknown band from England until they became superstars, global players, multimillionaires, from the time when they played dance music daily in front of 50 people to ear a dinner till they filled great, sold out stadiums.
The collection shows simply everything where is written Beatles on it, pictures, even privat ones, records, posters, audio documents, fan stuff. There is an Andy Warhol exhibition as a cherry on the cream ( 2 rooms, 13 pictures) too, you pass the yellow submarine and see the living room of a super fan.
Unfortunately the museum doesn't exist anymore, high costs and low income makes that it was closed in 2012. Very pity, less culture in the city....
