Stravinski-Brunnen - Paris - Stravinski Fountain

Genug Mittelalter für jetzt, zurück in die nicht so ferne Vergangenheit, zum Centre Pompidou, einen Kulturhaus mit Bibliothek aus dem Jahr 1977. Also, eigentlich wollen wir nicht wirklich ins Kulturhaus, wir laufen nur schnell an dem sehr umstrittenen, aber irgendwie coolem Bau vorbei, der immer aussieht, als befände er sich noch im Bau.

Unser Ziel ist der Brunnen mit seinen schwarzen, industriell angehauchten Installationen (Jean Tinguely) und den kunterbunten Fabelwesen und Nanas (Niki de Saint Phalle). Beide beziehen sich auf die wichtigsten Werke des großen Komponisten Igor Strawinsky, nach dem der Platz benannt ist. 

Die 16 Figuren sind beweglich und versprühen und verspritzen Wasserfontänen in dem 30 mal 16 Meter großen Becken, sie sind der eigentliche Springbrunnen. Eigentlich. Im Moment sind sie eher unbeweglich und trocken. Schade. Ist lange her, dass ich den Brunnen in Aktion erlebt habe. Vielleicht muss ich mal wieder im Sommer kommen.

Enough medieval age for now, back to the not that far past, to the Centre Pompidou, a cultural place with a library finished in 1977. But, we not really want to see the art house, we only walk alongside the hotly debated, but somehow cool construction, that all time looks, like it’s still under construction. 

We want to see the fountain with the black industrial-touch installations (Jean Tinguely) and the funny colourful fairytale-like ones and Nanas (Nikki de Saint Phalle). Both are related to the most important works of the great composer Igor Stravinsky, after whom the place is named. 

The 16 sculptures are turntable and spray and splash water all around in the 30 meters long and 16 meters wide basin, there are the fountains. But at the moment they are motionless and dry, it’s a long time sine I saw them in action. That’s kinda sad, but maybe I must come back in summer.
