Tokyo leuchtet - Illumination 2016/2017 - Tokyo shining

Hab ich im letzten Post noch etwas genörgelt, dass Weihnachten in Tokyo leicht gräßlich ist, muss ich das etwas präzisieren. Ich mag weder die Weihnachtsmusik im Kaufhaus noch die unzähligen rot bemützten Verkäufer*innen, die mir ständig irgendwelche Waren aufdrängeln wollen, aber ich mag die Beleuchtung in der Stadt. Und schließlich, ich muss ja nicht ins Kaufhaus gehen.

Die Stadt ist vielerorts mit aufwändigen Lichtinstallationen geschmückt und manchmal bekommt selbst der Bauzaun einen Lichterkette umgegangen. 

Eine der schönsten Lichtershows ist die in Odaiba-Decks, ich liebe sie seit meinem ersten Besuch in Tokyo und inzwischen leuchtete sie vermutlich ganzjährig, jedenfalls hat sie mich im März, im Mai und im Oktober erfreut. Besonders gefällt mir der Baum, der in allen Regenbogenfarben erstrahlt und irgendwann eine weiße Taube in den blauen Himmel fliegen lässt. 

Dieses Jahr war ich in Marunouchi, einer Gegend am Tokyoter Hauptbahnhof und dort war die Beleuchtung sehr europäisch weihnachtlich, so wie ich es von zu Hause kenne und in einem der großen Kaufhäuser wurde Tschaikowskis Nussknacker als Illumination aufgeführt, sehr beeindruckend. 

Das Tokyo Forum International wirkte beleuchtet noch gigantischer und am Tokyo Tower gab es neben dem Original, dass normalerweise orangerot leuchtet, und abends manchmal wie ein Weihnachtsbaum aussieht, lauter kleine rote Mini-Tower.

In Tokyo Midtown sind die Bäume blau und weiß und es sieht aus als ob leuchtende Tropfen von ihnen fallen, einer kleiner Bach war mit vielen bunten Lichtern gesprenkelt und vor dem Einkaufszentrum wechseln die Bäume die Farben und leuchten wie ein Regenbogen. Ähnlich war es in Roppongi Hills.

Sehr schön auch die Beleuchtung in Meguro, entlang des gleichnamigen Flusses sind die Bäume weiß, rosa und pink, Kirschblüten im Winter. Fabelhaft.

Und nicht zu vergessen der Canyon d'Azur in Shiodome, der hin und wieder, unterlegt von klassischer Musik, funkelt wie tausend Sterne.

Und es gibt noch andere Orte, die ich nicht gesehen habe, zum Beispiel am Skytree, den Tokyo Dome, das Venus Fort in Odaiba oder Sagamiko. Aber bald ist wieder Weihnachten, nur noch gut zehn Monate, dann lasse ich mich wieder erleuchten.

In my last post I was nagging about how ghastly Christmas in Tokyo is, I have to be more precise. I dislike the shopping mall Christmas music and the red hatted shop assistants, who try to sell me stuff I don't want, but, I love the lights in the city. And in the end, I can avoid the shopping centre. 

The city is decorated with lavish lights at many places and sometimes even a construction fence gets a string of lights. 

One of the most beautiful shows is the one at Odaiba Decks, I love it since my first time in Tokyo and meanwhile it's shining the whole year, I guess. I enjoyed it in March, May and October at least. I especially love the big tree that is sparkling in all colours of the rainbow and send a white dove into the blue sky in the end.

This year I went to Marunouchi, an area near Tokyo Central Station and it was illuminated in European Christmas style, like I know it from home and in one of the big shopping centres the played Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker as a lightshow, very impressive. 

The Tokyo International Forum seems to be much bigger with all the lights on and at Tokyo Tower, normally orange-red, that now in the evening looks like a giant Christmas tree, have been many small red Mini-Towers.

At Tokyo Midtown the trees have been white and blue and it looked like white drops are falling down, a small ditch was covered in colourful lights and in front of the shopping mall the trees changed their colour into the ones of the rainbow. The same at Roppongi Hills.

Even beautiful the illustration in Meguro, at the river with the same name the trees where white, rose and pink, cherry blossoms in winter, spectacular.

And did I mention the Canyon d'Azur in Shiodome, what is every now and then sparkling like thousand stars underlaid with classical music.

And there are places, I haven't seen, like Sky Tree, Tokyo Dome, Venus Fort in Odaiba and Sagamiko. But soon there will be Christmas again, its about ten more month and I'll be back and be enlightened again.
