Heute regnet es Bindfäden, in Strömen, Hunde und Katzen, was auch immer. Wie praktisch, da kann ich meinen Regenschirm spazieren führen und ins Museum gehen.
Meine Wahl fiel auf das Trick Art Museum in den Odaiba Decks. Durch die Verzerrung der Perspektive erzeugen die Künstler optische Illusionen und die Besucher können sich in die Bilder ‚integrieren‘ und somit Teil der Illusion werden. Ich bin schon einmal hier gewesen und fand viel Vergnügen an der Betrachtung der großartigen Kunstwerke, aber zu zwei macht es mehr Spaß. Jedenfalls habe ich das meiner Freundin Sarah verkündet und ihr einen vergnüglichen freien Tag in Aussicht gestellt.
Wir treffen uns an der Monorail, die nach Odaiba fährt und nach einigem Hin und Her auf den ersten beiden Stationen, sitzen wir ganz vorne im führerlosen Fahrzeug. Viel ist nicht zu sehen, aber ich wollte ein Foto von meinem Buch ‚Sushi und Stromgitarre‘ und wie wir auf die Rainbowbridge zufahren. Wir fahren erstmal zu weit, kein Wunder bei den Wassermassen, die da vom Himmel stürzen, aber dann dauert es nicht mehr lange, zwei Rolltreppen hoch, rüber ins nächste Haus, ah, das sind schon mal Bilder an der Wand, eine Rolltreppe runter, um die Ecke, Nö, halt, hier waren wir schon, wieder rauf, andere Seite runter, um noch eine Ecke, und schon sind wir da. Viele andere auch. Aber dank vorzüglicher Organisation, und das meine ich sehr lobend, sind wir sehr bald am Kassenautomaten und wenig später im Museum. Unsere Schirme können wir im Museumsshop abgeben und eine Mitarbeiterin erklärt uns kurz die Wirkung der Illusionsmalerei. Sie tut das auf japanisch und mit viel Schauspieltalent, es bleiben keine Fragen offen. Jedenfalls bei mir.
Und nun bewundern wir Meishas auf hohen Schuhen, reiten auf Tigern, kämpfen mit Ninjas, heben vom Boden ab oder verstecken uns in Boxen, werden von Dracula gefangen, jonglieren mit Schädeln oder untersuchen das Gebiss von Schlangen.
Alle Besucher sind gut gelaunt und freundlich zueinander, niemand läuft dem anderen ins Bild, man wartet, bis andere fertig sind, alles völlig entspannt und oooooch, schon fertig.
Nun gibt es noch Buchläden und 100¥ Shops (Rudis Resterampe in edel) zu besuchen und außerdem müssen wir Essen essen und Kaffee trinken und warten, dass an der Rainbowbridge der Regenbogen angeknipst wird.
Als wir wieder nach draußen gehen, hat der Regen schon ein wenig nachgelassen, und es gibt schon mehr Kirschblüten.

While recalling my last year of travel, I’m currently doing, what I can do best beside working: traveling, holidays. Plus I’m good at boasting, I always state, that I have always good weather while traveling, when angels do travel and such stuff.

Today it’s raining like mad, pouring, it’s bucketing down, it’s raining cats and dog, what ever. That’s great, I can walk my new umbrella then and go into a museum.
I chose the Tokyo Trick Art Museum at Odaiba Decks. By stretching the perspective the artists creat optical illusions and the visitors can ‚integrate‘ themselves into the pictures and become a part of the illusion as well. I’ve been here before and found a great pleasure in looking at the fantastic art, but it’s more fun, if you are two. That was what I promised my friend Sarah and presented the prospect of an amusing day.
We meet at Monorail Station and after going for and back over the first two stops, we finally found ourselves in the front row of a driverless train. Not so much to be seen right now, but I wanted a picture of my book ‚Sushi und Stromgitarre‘ and how go nearer to the Rainbowbridge. Those, who want to learn a little bit about Japan and much about the man who brought Japanese musicians and artists to Europe for so many years, that way, please: https://www.steff-astan.de/sushiundstromgitarre. We first miss our station, but with the water falls coming down from the sky, we have a good excuse, but soon, two escalators up, going to the next building, ah, the first pictures are already displayed, one floor down, around the corner, oops, we’ve been here already, up again, going to the other side, down again, around another corner, we are here. Other folks too. But due to perfect organisation, and that’s a compliment, we soon get to the ticket machine and short time later we enter the museum. Our umbrellas we can leave at the Museum’s Shop and a staff member explains the way those kind of illusions are working. She’s doing it in Japanese, we said, it would be ok, but we got a flyer with an English translation. She does it with so much joy and acting talent, no questions left to ask.
And now we venerated Maisha at high shoes, riding a tiger, fighting with Ninjas, rise high in the air or hide ourselves in boxes, get caught by Dracula, were juggling with skulls and checking the teeth of a giant snake.
All visitors are in excellent mood and friendly to each other, no one photo bombed the picture of others, everyone was waiting, till the others were done with taking pictures, everything was totally relaxed and noooooo, it’s already coming to an end.
But there are bookstores to explore, 100¥ Shops (a Variety Store but in classy) to loot, food has to be eaten and coffee to be drunk and we waited till the rainbow at the Rainbowbridge was switched on.
When we finally went out again, the rain was raining less and more cherry blossoms where to be seen.
