Weihnachtsstimmung in Tokio - Christmas spirit in Tokyo

Shinjuku, 24.Dezember, Mittagszeit, auf der einen Seite des verkehrsreichsten Bahnhofs der Welt ( täglich zwischen zwei und vier Millionen Passagiere) findet der Weihnachtseinkaufswahnsinn statt, man sieht den Grabbeltisch vor Menschen nicht, und auf der anderen Seite ist "Stiller Tag", alle Amtsstuben und Büros sind geschlossen und ich hab die Straßen fast ganz für mich allein, nur hin und wieder hasten ein paar Jäger und Sammler an mir vorbei, die ihre Beute nach Hause schleppen.

Da ich mir hier vieles schon in letzten Jahr gründlich betrachtet habe (http://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.jp/2011/12/shinjuku-west.html?m=1), verweile ich nur kurz zu ebener Erde, um dann in luftiger Höhe Kaffee zu trinken. Nach einer rasanten Fahrstuhlfahrt, man merkt es nur am Druck auf den Ohren, bin ich in der 41. Etage des Hyatt Hotels im Tokyo Park Tower, bekannt aus dem Film "Lost in Translation". Neben mir hatten viele andere die gleiche Idee und der genervte Kellner wollte mir einen Platz an der Bar zuweisen. Naja, Kaffee trinken ohne Ausblick kann ich auch in meiner Lieblingskaffeekette, also genieße ich den Ausblick auf Tokyo und bin dann mal weg...

Shinjuku, December 24th, High noon, at one side of the most congested station of the world ( between two and four million travellers each day) is christmas shopping madness going on, you can't see the bargain tables anymore and at the other side is "Silent Day", all the offices and agencies are closed and I'm the only one in the streets, only now and then one of the hunter-gatherers is rushing by to take his pickings home.

Last year I visited the most places thoroughly ( http://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.jp/2011/12/shinyuku-west.html?m=1), thats why today I only spent a little time on the ground, but going to have a cup of coffee high above. After a lighning journey by elevator, you only notice that by feeling the pressure on the ears, I entered the 41st floor of the Hyatt Hotel at Tokyo Park Tower ( known from the movie " Lost in Translation"). A lot of other people have had the same idea and the waiter, who seems to be on edge, offers me a seat at the bar. Having a coffee without a view is easy for me at my favorit coffee shop chain, so I only enjoy the overview on Tokyo and than off I go....
