Music was my first love....

In Yokohama.

Music. My first, great and eternal love. I do ride or flight a bit far for good music, that means music performed live by their inventors. Since I was flying that far, I can travel a bit more. From Osaka to Tokyo, for a live, Anna did ask, if I would like to come around, and I have the time and the ticket, so I take the Shinkansen and are there in time. Aura is playing, first I had to check for informations, it's a V-Kei band from the early years, very successful, later on hiatus, more later they started to play again. The live is in a small club in Meguro, half the size of my flat, that's really cozy. The music is great, handmade rock music with a lot of guitars and an interesting singer. After the concert the staff brought a bench and a camping table and the musician mixed with the audience for autographs, fotos, small talk and good mood. I felt good entertained, but one question left: the singer Reds was often interacting with a yellow plushy, Big Bird from Sesame Street and I thought he's a bit to adult for that. Than Anna told me, that the yellow was the color of PIE, the former guitarist, always recognized by his yellow hair, who is now in the hospital fighting lung cancer. (http://youtu.be/r9ORwYwAZtw)

One week later I meet Anna again, she came together with a friend and we had sushi and green tea and were talking about each and everything, mostly about music, and than they told me, it's time to go to Shibuya to a club an go to a live of a Korean rock band. Anna's friend thought I would like to go to another live, because I like music. Yeah, I do love Christmas surprises. The band is called Guyz, they are very young and played quite good rock, they love playing music and they like talking to the audience. I don't like that much, I prefere the music, I admit, I'm a bit greedy there. For the encore they played Last Christmas and the guitarist was dressed as a snowman, anybody else was Santa Claus. Anna said, I should imagine, musicians doing that in Europa. I didn't. I'm not brave enough for that. We would think, it's awful, in Japan they think it's funny.
Next evening I meet, right, Anna, in Yokohama. We go to the Club Sensation. Once HIDE played here, today Kyoji is playing. I saw him already at my first time in Tokyo, he played acoustic guitar and sang Amazing Grace in Japanese. This time he came with his E-guitar and was that gorgeous like he was amazing last time. The club got the size of my kitchen, there were about 45 people there and after the concert Kyoji came around, sitting among his fans, wrote autographs, they took pictures, and he was talking to all of us. I do like musicians, who are able to fill great venues with their skills and are not to posh to play in small places and do meet after with their fans and all without selling VIP tickets for the double amount of money.
Now it's a bit more bigger and we have to wait outside much longer. Kate and me want to see, and of course hear Sugizo. The very first evening in Japan I spent with Sugizo ( http://fraumb-far-far-away.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/sugizo-flower-of-life-tour-2011.html) and I liked it, so I want to repeat it. In his own band (Luna Sea) and as a guitarist for X-Japan he is playing rock music and ballads, solo he is more into trance and ambient. While we were waiting outside the venue came via Twitter that PIE, the guitarist of Aura passed away this afternoon. May he Rest In Peace.
After 45 minutes waiting we were well chilled, and than we were allowed to enter and short time after the concert started. Light off, mini spot light on and some people come on stage and bringing some instruments, than they start to play, err rock, than the singer began to sing and I wasn't sure if I could believe my eyes and ears. On the other hand, if not mine, whom's instead. Kyo, singer of my favorite band Dir en grey, to much time on his hands or to much ideas or energy for one band, introduced his solo project, Sukekiyo, they played three songs, than Kyo made a speech, means he said Thanks and off. Yes, thank you, Kyo, and thank you Sugizo, was a nice surprise. Sugizo was good as always, unfortunately the technic wasn't, what was a bit a harm to the pleasure of listening, especially when you don't hear the violin you see him playing. That was a bit pity, and the concert tickets in Japan are quite expensive. Anyway, Kate and me had a wonderful day and evening and we are waiting for new lives to come up.
Now it's Silvester, last day of the year, last chance for a live that year, and I take it. End-of-the-year-parties are definitely not my cup of tea, but ten hours live music is very appreciated. I was posing a lot with my achievement, a ticket for The Stylish Wave Countdown, on Facebook ( thanks again Shinnosuke for getting me a ticket ) and so I found someone who will be there too. I do meet Mi Fi in Roppongi. We have a nice cup of coffee and than we are on the way to find the venue. We are both no really Girl Scouts, but we spotted some girls in costumes and followed them and finally we arrived. I did only know three out of the 15 bands and wanted to be surprised, and WOW, long time since I had such a great New Years Eve. Very good music, nice company, and very strange to talk German the whole evening, girls in costumes and slippers were head banging and than 3...2...1...Happy New Year, may the next one be that wonderful like the last one was....
